Last Humor

My father had a good sense of humor,

He always came up with jokes

When we were in an embarrassing situation

His wit frequently saved our egos

And mended any tense relationship

When he became very ill

He still maintained his humor,

One day in the hospital

When his grandchildren

Came to see him from far away

My father though very tired

Opened his eyes

And with a smile

He looked at each of them

And said “I cannot see you clearly,

Don’t worry,

I am just passing through

On my way to paradise.”

And by his humorous words

The gloom was lifted

He then fell asleep

Never to wake again

It always warms our heart

When we think of him
